Each pad quickly absorbs up to 2 cups of liquid; the top layer dries quickly while the bottom layer prevents leaks.  Activated carbon helps neutralize odors.  To use, unfold the puppy training pad and place it plastic-side down in an area your puppy stays, but away from her bed and food.  Place your dog on the pad so she can smell the pad and get used to it.  You should do this several times.  If your dog relieves herself elsewhere, bring her back to the pad immediately.  This will reinforce the pad is the place to soil.  When the dog relieves herself on the pad, praise her and reward her with a treat.  Rewarding her will let her know she is doing what you want her to.  Dispose of soiled pad and replace when needed.  Once your dog is relieving herself on the pad on a regular basis, begin moving the pad closer to the door and eventually outdoors.
